about

This is "Waves of Grief" the title track of my upcoming album dropping 4/16. I am so excited to share my cathartic waves. You'll be invited in by waves crashing and a slow emotive siren singing. This song will lift you up in places you're still healing. I wrote this song intermittently throughout 2019 and the better half of 2020. I finished it after my grandpa passed and shutdowns began across the world in March. This song is not meant to sink you lower, it pulls you out of the deep end. Waves of Grief responds to this year full of tenderness, brokenness, and strength. I hope this track empowers you through your waves.

lyrics

Waves crashing on your shore
Pulling me into the thunder storm
I don’t want to lose you
You
You
You

Feeling so alone in my family’s home
Don’t know how take all this self control
Its better to have no one
No
No
No

I’m full of mistakes
Don’t know how to take
Isolated breaks
from drowning
Under these waters

The longer you resist the more it persists
Letting the waves embrace me instead
Feeling relieved to breath
Breath
Breath
Breath in

I’m full of mistakes
Don’t know how to take
Isolated breaks
from drowning
Under these waters

Now come down with me be free
we’ll swim to the shore safely
Swimming with never ending waves of grief
Grief
Grief
Grief

I’m full of mistakes
Don’t know how to take
Isolated breaks
from drowning
Under these waters
Under these waters
